My main research interests are focussed around technological innovation in healthcare. Beyond this, I also have a wider range of research experience which has helped me to acquire transferable skills and develop a broad foundation of knowledge. Research
Co-authored 40+ academic publications and preprints, including textbook chapters. Conducted 60+ peer reviews for international high-impact journals
Provided expert review of funding applications for the British Heart Council and UKRI. Sat on NIHR funding panels, reviewing £10m's of funding applications
Part-time Honorary Researcher at NHS England/Improvement analysing big data using machine learning. This has involved collaborating with the Health Economics Unit and Midlands and Lancashire Commissioning Support Unit
Part-time Honorary Research Fellow at Moorfield's Eye Hospital, as part of one of the leading artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare research groups in the UK, collaborating on a range of high-impact research projects
Research contracts with the Judge Business School, Department of Oncology and Department of Public Health and Primary Care at the University of Cambridge
Pioneered world-leading face mask research that has gained media attention and influenced World Health Organisation guidance through my leading role on the Respiratory Protection Engineering Task Force at University of Cambridge Engineering Department’s Healthcare Design Group: www.facemaskresearch.com
Post-Graduate Fellow at Yale University (2019) studying human health effects of pollutants in Professor Krystal Pollitt's lab. With this team, I worked on several projects, including: measuring foetal exposure to contaminants in utero, research into lipidomics and exposomics and working to commercialise a passive environmental contaminant sensor to measure people's personal exposure to contaminants.
Contributed to grant applications for medical start-up companies and research groups, ranging from $15 000 seed funding to a $3 million NIH (US) research grant
Appointed to the NIHR’s Artificial Intelligence in Health and Care Award Panel, NHS SBRI Healthcare Grant Funding Panel and NIHR Senior Investigator Committee as a Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) member reviewing funding applications with written analysis, panel discussions and questioning applicants, reviewed tens of millions of pounds worth of funding applications
Appointed to Health Data Research UK (HDR UK) Impact Committee as its youngest member

Fellow at GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), gaining experience developing a proposal for a novel drug target opportunity
Supported start-up MedTech companies in securing funding, writing financial models, conducting rigorous market analysis and pitching to investors as part of accelerator programmes
Participated in Yale University’s Tsai CITY programme as part of the FreshAir team working on a wearable low-cost environmental pollutant sensor
Worked with two AI in healthcare startups on business development: Medwise and Heartfelt Technologies
Volunteered as Business Development Associate for Innovation Forum, advising local start-ups in Cambridge to help entrepreneurs develop networks, improve funding pitches and accelerate access to funding
Won the AstraZeneca 2021 Datathon, developing a website, 30 page strategy book, 3 posters, 1 promotional video and a final pitch presentation over the course of three days

Recruited by senior management at NHS England in a new honorary position, where I helped to develop a programme for NHS England to train staff in data analytics via the novel Population Health Data and Analytics Centre of Excellence
